As time goes by and clients are signing up with digital-first.xyz, we have seen that most of the time the key set ups are missing in their #digitalmarketing . In this article I list the basic set ups that need to be implemented to be able to acquire more leads:
- Plan what you want to measure and why and use an easy centralised reporting tool e.g. Data Studio that can pull all the relevant data from Google Analytics, Spreadsheet, emails etc.
- Set up the social media profiles next to the corporate websites and link them together.
- Set up retargeting tags (via Google, Facebook, Linkedin) once somebody visited your website they can be reached again later.
- Use a CRM system (like InfusionSoft/Keap) or an email automation system (like Mailchimp) and plan what type of content you want to share with your contacts via marketing automation e.g. educate, up/cross sell for them.
- Plan the short and long tail keywords after keywords research.
- Create quality content (with the researched keywords) that solves problems and add options to download documents regarding the topic. (Once you have the email address you can set up email automation to explain further to the lead how you can help to solve their problem.)
- Use different CTAs and set up A/B test (e.g. Google Optimize) to find out what works the best.
Additional recommendations:
- As your homepage is the most visited page explain there clearly what you do. Don’t hide content if possible and do know that people love to scroll 😉
- Be where your audience at. Just to have a website is not enough use social media. Make sure that your target audience believe that you are the best option for them.
- Ask for feedback and act on it.
